Artist's statement:
A collection of some of my favorite 'happy' songs. Why? To place selections of these songs next to one another to show that they aren't all sending out waves of pure-happiness. Juxtaposed, one sees the secondary emotions in each song, like angst, sadness, anger, or pride. Each artist tending towards their own strengths like Eminem's pissed off grunge look at the dance scene or the Black Eyed Peas' playful spin on dating drama. Aqua on the other hand tries for happy-happy alone, and I believe this is why they come off as childlike and mind numbing. So happy isn't worth much alone; you gotta throw in those other feelings to make it life like and get me to appreciate the song.
